Understanding Allergies
Animal Advanced Allergy Therapeutics is the science of determining which substances the body overreacts to, and neutralizing the response. Allergies and sensitivities are caused by an inappropriate reaction to harmless substances. The word “allergy” comes from the Greek allos, meaning “other”. It was first used in 1906 to refer to an “altered reaction” in the body’s immune system.

How Advanced Allergy Therapeutics Works
Advanced Allergy Therapeutics works directly with the relationship between the major organ systems and inappropriate reactions to harmless substances. While the immune system is responsible for initiating an immune reaction in the case of true allergies, it is the health and state of the organ systems that often determines the type of symptoms that may arise. With both sensitivities and allergies, symptoms typically stem from the organ system affected. For example, one patient may have a reaction to soybean by getting rashes while another patient may react with sinus congestion, heartburn or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The symptoms in each of these cases represent a different organ system involved. By treating the organ system(s) involved in a reaction, the body is able to respond more appropriately.

Small Animal AAT

Our pets are exposed to stress just like us but live closer to potential allergens than we do. They lie on the floor in the chemicals that clean their homes. They are eye level with pollens in the grass, the pollutants in their neighborhoods stick to their coats that they lick to clean. They are stressed by our lives as well as their own and often over immunized. What a tangle. AAT can find the numerous interacting allergens and resolve the sensitivities to those things we can’t eliminate from their world.

Large Animal AAT

Horses live with more stress, in smaller areas, on processed beddings eating more processed foods than ever before. Detecting these modified substances can’t be done by conventional methods. AAT finds these new allergens for horses, as well as the expected ones and corrects reactions to things that can’t be avoided or eliminated.

Our trained veterinary staff will come to your barn to test and treat your horse for allergies to substances, such as food, vaccines, medications, seasonal respiratory allergens and environmental contestants.
